Imagine for a minute, through addiction or bad family vibes you had nowhere to go ?.Could you handle sleeping in a porch ? I think I would be in a constant blur from alcohol or drugs just to cope with it. Doing this would prevent you from gtting out of the **** you are in...Vicious circle and all that. Jaysus mon thats a non runner for me, the folks etc....But say NOBODY is talking to you !!

I slept on an escalator once (I was hammered), I imagine a porch would be a bit more comfortable so yeah I reckon I could do it.

I got stranded in Kilkenny once and had to sleep in a field for the night. I learned that night that there is no way I'd survive long term homelesness.

Yes. Over many, many years I have had to sleep in the strangest of places and in all weather conditions.
It all helps to put a different perspective on life.

I'd survive.....I'd sleep on Mr Drummonds porch in the 80s.....then he'd let me move in with him,Arnold,Willis and the jailbait whore Plato......and I'd live a long happy life pooning my new sister and having my 2 new brothers happy to make me fried chicken with gravy and some watermelon......and no one would bat an eyelid at the over the top racist stereotype or misogynist tones because it's the early 80s and in them days everything was just peachy......till aids fcuked it all up.

i slept on a bench one night. NEVER again hopefully.

I still have serious problems with my knees after that night. Whenever it gets cold my knees are in agony. Dunno how people do it every night.

Some smartarse is gonna edit your post.:pac:

I sat on a wall one night on my way home and woke up on my back in someones garden....I think the alcohol made it tolerable....wouldn't fancy it all the time but I think most people would manage it people have a way of adapting to survive.

...yea I get it...but you weren't faced with dinosaurs, or killer robots or werewolves or anything........it's only homeless.......there are worse things......only homeless people feel sorry for themselves....real people don't feel sorry for them...they're grand......if they weren't homeless where would all the blankets and change go?

Not sure, but previous experience browsing After Hours leads me to believe his second name is "Ma".

Perhaps the stores will start renting out the shop doorways soon ? A good earner

I have slept in the odd field ,haybarn, park bench in my time and put a few friends up at home for a few days to , here and there .

But a cold winter nights in shop doorways doesn't appeal to me at all .

    That looks pretty awesome actually!

Yeah it does look pretty cool. Must track down a copy and give it a watch some time.

The weather would be the big thing that would get to me. If it wasn't so cold and wet here it would definitely be a lot easier. Scraping some money together would be a bitch as well.

Not too sure, but like anyone else who was made homeless, you would have to adapt and survive to the best that you can.

    Well that backfired.

And the sneaky bugger edited the thread title too so now you look crazy. Of course he will edit this post too in order to remove any trace of his meddlesome ways, but you and I will know the truth. Or maybe you really are crazy and myself and AC are in this together and it's all an elaborate plan on our behalf to slowly drive you more and more insane. Maybe you're already insane and this is all a hallucination. Maybe this isn't real. Maybe this is the Matrix and we are all living in a simulation and you are really just a brain in a jar in a real world bing stimulated to believe that you are a full person living in a real world. Or maybe we are computer programs like characters in the sims and part of our programming is to believe we are real and autonomous entities in our own rights when in fact our every move is controlled by our creators and we can never know the world outside of their creation. Maybe free will doesn't exist, maybe everything is pre-determined and the universe is playing itself out on a repeated loop like a dvd that just plays through to the end and then restarts itself again instantly as soon as it ends, over and over in an endless ccle of eternity where we can never escape. Maybe there is no meaning to our lives outside of the meaning we can give it ourselves through our actions and every action leads to a reaction and every cause has an effect so every action is just one link in a chain of infinite regress and we are all part of the same entity, all neuronal impulses in the living collective brain of the universe as it expreiences itself through introspection and self-reflection and we are colectively God.

Or maybe I'm just drunk and bored.

    Who knows?

When I was living in Malta, I slept in a cave. I had missed the boat back after partying and decided to chill in a lovely warm and snug cave. Best decision I ever made. I could have swam after the boat and got life rafted aboard, but that was too much effort as I had a bottle of rum with me and my then gf. Good times. :)

What I wouldn't give for a nice, cuddly porch to curl up on. Those homeless don't know how good they have it.

No- I colud'nt cope with being homeless as I am a creature of comfort,

but I would live on a boat! and am considering doing so:)

I've done an all nighter then gone to a police station the next night and crashed out in a Guards front room, the following night I ended up in a field. It was a long weekend.

The scariest thing about the street is other people, I'd rather be a castaway than that.
