Strange, do not really see the point of the remove pin function in that case since you set up parental control anyway you want if you have kids.

The remove PIN function does not apply to 15 or above rated material broadcast before the watershed. OFCOM rules say Sky cannot broadcast
this material without a PIN protection facility.

On 'Other Channels' a PIN No. is required if you activate the PIN protection, as there are no flags on the info bar on channels
    outside the EPG.

It also covers 12 rated films. It is pure madness.

Is that not just during the day and/or if you have it set to protect against 12s or 15s? I can see the reasoning for it tbh.

If you live in a house with no kids it is an absolute nuisance.

OFCOM make sky pin protect 12 and 15 films before 8pm. If you record them you can bypass the pin protection.

    Anyone else have this bug?

The Search & Scan Banner refuses to stay off BBC 3 or BBC 4 when those channels are on the 'Other Channels' menu, as would be the case for most of us here in Ireland. Repeated pressing of the 'Back Up' button removes the banner for a second or so only.

I've got a fix for this, courtesy of jonmorris on the Digital Spy forum.
It's a pain to fix, but here goes:

    1. Remove all the channels on your 'Add Channels' list.
    2. Do a 'Planner Rebuild' - 'Services', 0,0,1 Select, Rebuild
    3. Re store channels to 'Other Channels' list

    Problem solved :D

Anyone know what ver number they are up to now, my HD box is 4E3006 and mine has yet to be done

OK I have at least figured out this much. You can decide to remove this bug on either the kids channels (CBeebies or CBBC) or BBC 3 / 4.

Follow the fix described in my post of 07/04/2009 above from 6am to just before 7pm to clear bug from kids BBC channels, and from 7pm to just before 6am for BBC 3 /4.

It all depends how important certain channels are to you :D

I know this is hardly ideal, but it's all I can come up with at present, Sky have been contacted.... ;)

Nor has my 4E3006, I was hoping it would have happened before this weekend on mine as ITV HD are showing live football on Sunday:(

My box is a 4E3011 which I heard where one of the 1st to get the uprade and I still have NOT got it so I wouldnt assume anything about when certain boxes get the upgrade.

Would a forced upgrade be worth a shot at this point?

I saw it mentioned here and elsewhere that that could actually delay you in getting the update. Any truth to this?

That's correct do not do a forced update as this will remove the stored code of the new EPG, and replace it with the older version and put your update back weeks or months.

There was a report on another forum that 4E3011 boxes were among the first to get the new EPG but this was incorrect info. I believe that the 4E3011's will be the last batch of Thomsons to receive the EPG before they move on to the other models. There's specualtion that all the Thomsons will be updated by the end of this month.

I suggested this assuming the back up stream would have had the new epg by now, I guess not.
