Golf Mark V vs Mark VI

Having read a lot of thread, it seems to me that a lot of people like the new Mark VI.

I on the other hand hate it. To me, they have gone backwards on the car design. If you put a person who had seen neither car before, I am sure they would say that the Mark V follows on from the Mark VI rather than the other way around.

The worst decision is in the rear lights. The circular rear lights of the Mark V stand out as being sporty in comparison to the Mark VI. I don't like the front either. They have widened the front lights in comparison to the Mark V and gone for a different shape front bumper.

Overall, I'm very disapointed and I hope that VW don't go for a similar design philosophy on the next generation Passat.

They're both pretty ugly, TBH. If pushed, i'd say that the Mk6 was slightly worse-looking.

I like the exhausts on the Mark VI but other that than I think the Mark V looks better in every way, the most noticable part for me (the front grill) looks better and more distintive on the Mark V.
