was out last nite in a club - we were sitting by the dance floor and had our drinks resting on a long table and as i was chatting away a guy the other side of us on the dance floor was taking the drinks and gulping them back - i took hold of the drinks my mates at first thought i was taking the perverbial on them taking the drinks but when i pointed out the bloke - we were quite amused by his audacity really - we didnt say anything to him cause it was almost funny - suppose we felt kinda sorry for him - for me i never finish a pint i know thats a bad habit but basically he was taking my ends and filling them up till he got a full pint and necking them back - then another friend was drinking bacardi breezers and the bits left in hers bottle necked back - he was absolutely obliterated on the drink but he kept going - i got an iced water for myself as i had had a few at this stage - he even grabbed at that my boyfriend had to grab my glass back -

anyone who left the drink down it was gone - he was lucky not to have someone have a word or two be it by fist or mouth - though he was p1ssed out of his skull maybe they felt sorry for him too

is this a new way of beating the recession go around nicking peoples ends - what a way to do it - id rather stay at home than to do that

i do agree that its a pretty disguisting habit but i seem to end up doing it at the end of most night when ive run out of money, its a choice between that and chatting up some poor bloke to get free drinks which i just dont agree with

Id never take a drink off someone, i take the unattended ones
So bring out more money? Do you also go picking at peoples food on unattended plates in restaurants?

I have seen pint covers in pubs now for when people go out smoking.

Id never take a drink off someone, i take the unattended ones which i suppose is a bit more dangerous but i wouldnt want to risk getting into a fight

i still dont think its a "new" thing pint robbing has existed since nightclubs existed:rolleyes:

    Classy.

years ago, i drank in a certain wexford st establishment, that didnt have a smoking area, so you had to leave your drink on top of the cig machine while you went out to smoke.

Years ago... going outside to smoke? I thought that was a new thing?

    Also, what's a 'lack'?

ive never actually seen it happen but ive heard of it before.

its disgusting, trashy & cheap, not to mention dangerous. a mouthfull of p*ss could be the least of your worries if its spiked with something else.

No one should be that desperate for a drink no matter how tight their budget is.

I was drinking bottled beer at the time and got real pissed of to find my drink gone (lifted) on several occasions, after returning from having a smoke.

I decided that revenge was a drink that was best served 'luke warm',so I took an empty bottle to the gents, pissed it almost full, left the gents, and went out for a smoke, leaving my urine sample on top of the cig machine on the way out..

to my utter delight, this smart bastard wanders over to the machine with his mate, lifted the bottle and slinked away to the corner, grinning, but not for very long.

it very nearly came back at me,because I almost pissed myself laughing at his facial expression when the penny dropped. :)
