Completely off topic..but that last picture with the members marching in the background simply called for it.

The RSU vehicles are superb. It's good to see the college isn't afraid to show them.

    Someone just emailed me this
Apparently, the buck eejit who owns this vehicle is an Irish chippy working somewhere in Australia, who decided to decorate his work van like a Garda paddywagon. Just for the craic like.
Quality smartarsery of the highest order. I wonder what the Aussies make of it all.

    1 - DPG beemer

2 - escort bike - these guys blow whistles like mad instead of using the sirens as it seems to upset the special wuns?

PC Peter Slimon, George Cross, 27 December 1973

In possession of a firearm in connection with protection duties, the officer intervened in a bank robbery at the National Westminster Bank in Kensington High Street , PC Slimon was wounded in an exchange of gunfire, and attempted to pursue the bank robbers as they escaped from the scene.

Although shot and injured, PC Slimon shot dead one raider and wounded another.

In 1973, the DPG would probably have had Morris Minors and Webleys!!!!

Some photos of cars of the Polizia di Stato.

The Polizia di Stato is one of the national police forces of Italy.

It is responsible for providing general police duties in Italy; patrolling motorways (autostrada), railways, airports, customs (together with the Guardia di Finanza) as well as certain waterways, and assisting the local police forces.

It is a civil police force in contrast to the other main police forces of Italy, the Carabinieri, which is a military police (gendarmerie) force and the Guardia di Finanza, the Italian customs and border protection police that also falls in the military corps category.

The Polizia di Stato is the principal Italian police force for the maintenance of public security (since it is run directly from the Ministero della Pubblica Sicurezza (Department of Public Security), and the keeping of public order.
