was up in aldi the other night doing my weekly shopping (48 cans of Galahads premium ale, 3 packets of brannans sausages and 2 bags of twisty fries) and seen a pair of skiing boots for sale? i thought thats a bit strange considering it april and we're not exactly blessed with mountain slopes over here.

anyways any of the rest of ye see anything strange for sale up there?

I was in there a few weeks ago and they were selling razor blades at reasonable prices. Very strange for Ireland, very strange indeed.

I still get a chuckle out of those camping satellite receiver systems they sell.
Just seems a bit crazy to me. "This year I am going on holiday camping in the mountains of Kerry for a week. I will be mostly watching Sky News"

Aldi is the sh1t! I bought a bagless vacume for 80 euro last week. It's as good as a Dyson, which costs 300+. Also bought computers and tv's from there in the past

Amazing what they're getting into. I liked the look of the five star in Crete. Pity we've already booked our holliers this year!

A scarfing torch. It's like one of those flame throwers road workers use to burn white lines of roads or what steel workers use to remove defects from girders. A serious piece of industrial equipment on sale in a supermarket, wonderful.

Also, Lidl was selling audio mixing decks last week - I actually bought one.

I've always been freaked out by those rolled up slices of fish in a jar...yuck...

As regards their weekly specials - a generator for €100, right beside the pet food.

Oh and an inflatable roof rack for your car...

    A child.

I was too embarrassed to just bring it up to the counter while buying my chips, so I just stuck it under my jacket. Broke the damned thing about a week later, so thank god I didn't pay for it.

Yeah I've seen them selling Welding Equipment, Generators, etc...
They do sell the oddest of things.

Is there a difference between aldi and lidl or did they just run out of 'A's?
