    Hi all,
I'm trying not to LOL very loudly at all the extreme religous nuts. I'm not talking about the God Squads from the Islamic & Christain forums, I'm talking about users who believe earthquakes are caused by people being "bad" (but Vegas is still standing: does God think it's okay?), and pretty much any other event that they can't explain, such as the sun "magically drying your wet clothes", etc.

Are these people taking the piss, or are there nuts like this out there?

Ah now come on OP. These are the fun ones, the one's when I see them post I think "ah can we keep him Ted?". If we could swap a nut for a plain old believer things would be much more fun.. until they outnumber us

it's all a bunch of tree hugging hippy crap.

god doesn't want people to believe in him anyway, otherwise he wouldn't have given them free will.

and why would he level vegas? it's like a honey pot keeping all the bad people busy whilst his flock prpare for the apocalypse. much better to wreck a town of god fearing folk in Italy.

Gaia Theory has very little to do with religion.

Laughing out loudly very loudly. You must really find it funny?

Yeah I don't understand the opening post. People who say earthquakes are caused by people being bad - that's surely something the "god squads" on those other forums would believe, no?
The sun drying clothes - well it does, doesn't it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,669 ✭✭✭Riddle101

When I read the title, I thought of posters who E-Mail bomb innocent posters because they believe god told them too.

Anyway I hate religous nuts. They give moderately religous people like me a bad name

I replied on it and my post was deleted for some reason.
It was a post set in 2150 which claimed that Ireland never had a recesssion and we had a perfect utopia while FF was in power goverened by His Holiness Bertie Ahern and his disciples Brian, Brian L, Mary, Mary C, Fat Mary, Batty O'Keefe etc. :pac:

We call him Jeeves in our house.

And let me tell you he's a good woman-replacement in some ways. Not so good in others though.

As I found out last Saturday night. :(

Yes, but contrary to what the crazy Catholic indoctronation that you suffered as child told you, the moon is just as capable of drying your clothes and entering a valid relationship with a star.

People have a genuine fear of what they don't understand. They cannot process what has happened, regardless of their IQ. They will blame what happened on a higher supernatural being, it seems logical to them. We are supposed to be the most intelligent beings on this earth, in fact we are not so intelligent. We lack understanding (which isn't the problem) and make up things to put our minds at ease.

We do not know what happens when we die, nobody does, so we make up this beautiful place called heaven, that's where we go when we die... right?

Some story teller (or elder), a long time ago, made up this hell and heaven crap to keep the children or all the villagers in line.

There are some serious whack jobs out there, some really scare me. It's best to just ignore them. ;)

how did you work that out?

There is a difference between the median and an average

    5 people do a test, 4 get 100% and 1 get 0%

the average mark was 80%. This means 80% of people got more then the average

Over large population samples, the median and the average tend to converge. Over 6 billion people, you can be fairly sure that they're as close as they can be.
