    sorry should have clarified!

    I called into the branch!

No problem. Is it a difficult process to do in the branch? Do you have to fill in lots of forms? Did you use the new SWIFT/BIC code or the old one? Thanks

OK Paul Savory Ax this process might seem complicated but If you do it once you wont have to do It again, and all you'll have to do is drop into a UB branch and fill out a form to lodge money to your wirecard.

    1
Find out your Ulster bank (UB) IBAN AND BIC - - (Phone your local branch if you don't have it)

    2
Register your UB account with wirecard (you are prompted to do this on the wirecard deposit section.)

    - Note > Wirecard site wont recognise your IBAN as is
    EG - IE42ULSB<yourSortCode><yourAccount Number>

But To get around this you register your UB acc number without the first charictors after IE

    e.g

    IE<insertSortCode><InsertAccount Number>

so if your UB sort code and account number was - 980000 / 12346789

you should register your IBAN with wirecard as IE980001123456789

    3
After you have done this. Find the IBAN & BIC of your Wire card account. (find this in the -account section of WIRECARD)

    eg

IBAN: DE7851230800xxxxxxxxxx SWIFT / BIC Code: WIREDEMM

    4
Go into a UB branch and ask for a euro 'T''T' form.

It is a little detained but you only have to fill in the sections with stars (*) the others are just options, , , IE foreign banks address etc.... I did not fill this in but it still went through.

As a precaution your local branch may phone you for security purposes.

    <end>

From now on all I have to do Is go into the Branch and fill this form out. . .

I must admit I am thinking of opening a BOI account ! so I can T-fer online! .... But I was really impressed at the speed my UB t-fer went through.

    Hope this helps -

    Regards

yes. goes in straight away, but I dont think its a good way to do it at 3v is a rip off.

You can but they locked my account after my 6th voucher. Be careful.

I wasn't but i knew the teller quite well, , , as far as I know it's 50c or something?......

wirecard charged me one euro for a 500 transfer.

I think you're mistaken on the charges mate. I've done some googling and it seems the basic 3 day transfer costs 50c and the same day transfer (which you seem to have got) costs over a tenner. Now maybe the google information I got is out of date....are you sure you got charged nothing and had in the account the same day?

3v is a rip off but if you paid all the credit from 3 v at one time? say yo get 100 euro 3v and pay all to wirecard what are the charges? 2.50 for the 3v and wirecard?

I stand corrected ! Then, , , I asked for it to be done asap, but assumed this was 3 days?

oK . . . i'LL COME CLEAN , , , i know the girl who served me VERY well, , so maybe she did on same day! for nothing.

I wont take advantage though! and from now on i'll just ask that it be done the cheap way.

I got my Halifax Visa debit card this week and everythings great with it! No more fees or waiting 3-4 days for money to show up (or wondering will it show up at all with their dodgy setup). I never felt confident lodging large amounts to Wirecard. Happy days. Just thought I'd recommend it to people here. I wonder have others made the change as Basquille and Bond-007 seem to have stopped posting in this thread?

I applied for a VISA card when I went to the US last Summer..

.. so that's the reason for my Wirecard in-activity! ;)

That would put me off it.

The plastic card feels cheap, almost fake

I guess that a CHIP (a requirement for Chip and Pin) would cost even more and thats why a signature is instead used.

Neteller have a virtual mastercard now.
    Generates a once off number.
I've been waiting for a suitable replacement since AIB stopped transactonline a few years ago.

Do people recommend Neteller for online purchases? Do most sites accept payment via them?

Neteller have been on the go for a good while now and are extensively used in the poker industry so I'm guessing their card is widely accepted. They even have an ATM card, my brother has one and I think he could withdraw money from his online neteller account from the main ATMs in Ireland (AIB ones I think, maybe more).

At the end of january i exceeded my €2500 with a €300 transfer, they told me i could sign up for a wirecard plus account or my €300 would be refunded by 2/11/09, im still waiting for my money

I was under the impression that the limit would be refreshed after a year was up. i made my first transfer on the 8 of february 2008.

If i had time to go into the bank and request time with a manager to certify my ID i would for a wirecard account plus, its alot less hassle just to quickly stop into my bank and apply for a actuall mastercard.

Don't know if anyone is still using Wirecard but the expiry date on my virtual card is this month. I emailed them to ask what happens and they said unless you have €10 in your account your card won't be renewed. However you can still get a new one at any time by having a minimum of €10 in your account.

lol i was thinking of emailing them soon about this as mine is up next month, saved me an email :) thanks Paul Savory Ax

Lads, whenever I try to add my wirecard it just tells me "Please enter the IBAN in the correct format. The two initial characters must be letters (A-Z) representing the country code followed by up to 30 alphanumeric characters (0-9, A-Z) representing the Basic Bank Account Number. All characters must be written in capital, spaces and special characters are not allowed."

    Any idea what's going on?

EDIT: I just removed the BOFI from the code and it worked. Anyone know anything about this?

    Got an email last night:

After successful extension, your existing credit will be transferred automatically to the new card data so that you can use the new MasterCard immediately.

Furthermore, even if you only receive this message later on, you can get your new MasterCard the same way.

You still need the €10 balance though, as I logged in and got the following message.
    Your card was not renewed

Your MasterCard could not be renewed since your Wirecard account does not contain the required minimum credit of 10.00 EUR. To extend your card, please make a deposit. After the deposit has been credited, your MasterCard will be re-issued free of charge.

When you get a new card, does it give you a new CC number, or does the actual number remain the same and you just get new expiry date? Do you still access it with the same username/password and can you still see your previous stransactions with the old cald?

New cc number, expiry date and CVC code. You still use your old username/password and can see all the transactions with the "old" card.

Thanks! I've since got a halifax card which is brilliant, but maybe I'll need the wirecard at some stage so I think I'll pop a tenner in
