Does the God of Christianity Exist, and What Difference Does It Make?

    From your second link:
So there you have it. Hitchens’ anti-God philosophy offers no hope or dignity to the disabled and others who are “unlucky” in life.

So what? Just because Christianity makes the poor, the weak and the suffering feel better about themselves doesn't mean it is any more plausible as a religion.

I can't believe somebody actually put forward the Ontological Argument.

    Seriously. Worst argument EVER.

There's an awful lot of 'evidence' offered toward a creator - but a conspicuous lack of evidence offered towards the far more pertinent question as to why it's their God that did it. That's the faith leap right there.

A panel of apologetics experts responds to an atheist critic with evidence from Scripture

    LOL!

Does a being exist in the universe that we might call A God or The God... maybe, who knows. Whether or not a God exists does not matter, what matters is if this Gods supposed existence has any relevance to our lives and if we should consider it. Imo, it doesn't and we shouldn't.

Does the God of Christianity Exist? No, definitely not. None of the Gods created by man exist. Ask yourself why you can so easily discount the existence of every other religions Gods, but not your own, and why you hold him as so separate from the rest.

What Difference Does It Make? Eh a lot of difference in our opinion. It really is a pretty huge question.

    No. Not a chance.

Does it matter? Well, if those who believed in the christian god were a small bunch of deluded eccentrics it wouldn't really. That their number consists of perhaps a billion or more people around the world makes it an imprtant question yes, thought not so much whether it matters if the christian god exists (he doesn't), but why it is that so many people cling to this rather obvious delusion in the first place.

As you atheists seem to hang out a lot on the Christianity forum, I thought you would't mind a Christian posting here...

    Howdy neighbour :)

    - I doubt it

    - None whatsoever because it doesn't sound worth worshiping anyway.
