    want to book from a weekend in Ireland somewhere and cannot get a decent website to facilitate me.

    There is a sticky here on good websites- you should find a good one there.
    Otherwise try http://www.boo.com/ireland you can refine the search on the map there for whereever in the country you want to go to. Plus its got bars & restaurants on there too so you can plan the trip a bit better.
