I've a pretty bad buckle in my back wheel of my trek 7.3fx.

I was considering trying to get a bike shop to straighten it out, but I'm wondering would the rim here be compatible, and its not too expensive.

I could just reuse the spokes, hub etc and replace the rim.

How hard is it to rebuild a wheel? Do I need special tools to make sure I get the tension right on every spoke so the wheel doesn't buckle?

That rim won't work because it's for disc brakes only and afaik the 7.3fx only has rim brakes.

Building a wheel is a pretty involved process, you will need a spoke key at the very least, maybe a truing stand. Having the right length spokes helps too (which you already have). Have a read of this
