I have decided. I want to do something something before I die. It is to be something physical, which is why I plan to do it before I turn 40. Something like completing a marathon or climbing a mountain or cycling across Australia.

Anyone got any better ideas? I'm almost 32 now to give you an idea of the timeframe we're talking about.

How about a marathon or climbing a mountain? No, I joke.

    Make it to every continent?

Join one of those 'active' charities and do a sponsorship event. Parachute jumping into the Sarengeti (sp?) with a blind Nepalese midget on your back or something.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Ride someone in every country.

Ride someone on top of a mountain!

Tibetan Buddhism meditation retreat in the Himalayan mountains?
I don't think you have to actually be a Buddhist to do this.
And you might not find enlightenment, but it should be interesting.

^Great idea. I would welcome the chance to learn more about Buddhism.

Parachute jumping sounds good for the challenge part but I don't think it would be phyiscal enough.

Walking all around the coast of Ireland or something to do with cycling appeals. Some great ideas so far, thanks!

I think the SAS do a sort of tough hike in England every year, basically its for the public but youd wanna get training , not to mention learn everything to come with it, i.e. map reading. Physically its supposed to be exteremly tough. Someone else might put up the name of it, it was mentioned in the military forum a good few months ago

    Climb a Mountain

    Deep sea dive

    Skydive

punch Mary Harney in the gee

Do a sponsored walk from Cork to Belfast

You know I think i'm listening all the things I want to do but there's some ideas anyway

Do what Neil Peart drummer from Rush did, get a motorbike and start in north Canada or Alaska, and drive at your leisure all the way to the Southern tip of Chile / Argentina. Took Neil approx 4 months.

Resolve to be an uninteresting cnut of no significance. Most people end up being like that anyway, but you'd be really cool and unique for actually aiming for it.

Ageed, but be an interesting cnut of some significence. People will always remember the annoying old git at the end of the bar as opposed to the old git who ran a marathon/climbed Everest etc. Who cares? Do nothing, grow old and irritate young people, ridicule their ambitions, that's what old people are for.

Have you ever thought about joining the French Foreign Legion? Fly to Paris, turn up at the recruiting desk (they're open every morning and there's always a few stragglers outside)

Basically, you do a quick assessment and then you get packed off to the infamous farm in the South of France where you spend about 5 weeks having the bollix run off you and getting punched/screamed at by angry Frenchman. If you pass that, you're in. Then you get to spend the next five years parachuting into the most dangerous parts of the world killing members of various ethnic minorities. Bonus French citizenship after a couple of years and you get to join under an assumed name so if you've ever wanted to be Hercules Rockefeller there's your chance.

Then after 5 years or so you can leave and become a mercenary working for whatever dodgy government pays you the most. Plus you'll be able to both speak French and kill someone with your bare hands. I'm told the ladies like both.

Seems cool, there are a few other one's there as well.

Another one I'd love to do, for the sheer madness of it:

    Give birth.

There's not really any bigger physical thing than growing a human inside yourself and then pushing that human out of you.

Wow Senna, somebody needs to be a bit less sensitive about the limitations of their pee pee.

OP asked for a physical challenge, I gave them a physical challenge.

All the moreso if OP is male.
