Liam Dollard - Sides DC 93

Thanks so much for the Dollard mix been listening to it all weekend.
Has anyone any more mixes by this genius.
I had it in my head that by this stage 15/10/93 that Sides was in decline, the Es were getting skaggy compared to what had gone before and the vibe in the place wasnt the same as it had been.
What Id give now to be stumbling down those steps to the dance floor to hear that mix.
Now on reflection I can remember Pat Highland playing Lemon by U2 around this time, the whole room filled with dry Ice,I actually thought I had died and gone to Heaven.Strobes flickering through the smoke and ocassionaly a dancer would invade your bubble for a second only to dance off into the mist again.
The more I think about it ,its hard to say which was the best club in Dublin, because I had ****ing amazing nights in all of them.

Just as a matter of interest Johnny would u remember the year and were was the Party cause we done the very same thing in there one night and im sure it was NYE as well... I think Nigel H and Chris B were on the decks that night but i could be mistaken !!!!

My memorys a bit hazy but id hazard a guess and say it was either 1997 or 1998, i can remember some NYE's more than others.

No bother Anto glad you enjoyed it, good times indeed. I dont have anymore old Dollard sets I had to hound a mate to get a lend of that off him. We have most of Dollard and Ed Cases set from the Vaults on Friday. I'll split them out and stick them up here ASAP.

The start of it sounds like Underworld, Dark and long

It might be a mix of it, not sure.

    Happy Paddys Day .

Everybody sound with the bird that was running the place giving us a can for free when we told her this was our first time in the place.....must have been some bang of Gargle, Dry ice, Olbas oil & Hash in the eating room upstairs for the morning patrons of the establishment after the all nighters in there:D;)

I've a couple from him. Think one is live from The Rock Garden or something like that. Have a load from Johnny Moy in Temple of Sound plus Rocky & Diesel live from there too amongst others. I'll stick them up once I get a tape deck sorted.

Am I right in saying there were a couple of different venues for the Purple Onion. Was in at the opening nite of it and when I went back months later was in a totally different spot? Another crazy spot in its day

On the hunt for a tape deck so I'll do my best. From the same era, also got a few from Billy Scurry, Mark Dixon, and a few from a DJ called Paddy G. Anyone know him?

Fckin hell, been years trying to get a mix from the Temple of Sound, really looking forward to them!!!

I remember being at Rocky & Diesel twice there... the first was an amazing night, they played the full 12" mix of 'The Bomb' by the Bucketheads - it hadn't been released at that point and was great hearing it off ones head! The 2nd time I heard them they were muck, never got the place going at all which was a big disappointment given the first night.

I seem to remember them at Sides ,they had there own supply of Es that they brought over, cant say if they were any good music wise as all I can remember was dropping the pills a bit of heavy bass and the lights coming on.Had a few of those sorta nights

Think Paddy G might be paddy gallagher, he's a dj from ballybrack like johnny moy, mark dixon and stephen mullhall. He used to play detroit techno before i even knew what it was, have an amazing tape of him from around 93 and it still sounds fresh today. Has anyone got any stephen mullhall mixes he used to play the temple of sound, had 2 years ago "hard grooving" and "living large" give anything to listen to them again.

Yeah, it's Paddy Gallagher. The name came back to me last night after I had posted. Didn't realise he was from Ballybrack too.
