Hi there. I am researching the options of converting a chest freezer to a fridge and have found a couple of websites on the subject. I am not an engineer or expert whatsoever on this subject but would like to know if anyone else has done so or knows of the correct procedure. I have bought a ' universal fridge thermometer, - 35 to + 35 degrees' from ebay and I am hoping to buy a second hand freezer from the classifieds this week and give it a go. I am hoping to attempt to try and connect the thermostat to the freezer and control via the new thermostat but not too sure how. Any advice appreciated.

I don't think this will work at all. Your freezer will have been charged with refrigerant for use as a freezer. If you try to get it to run as a fridge it won't have enough gas to run at a correct temperature. Fridges have higher running pressure than freezers. You'll have a hot fridge, short on gas

    I think so anyway :)
