What's the adverage rent costs of a shop in Galway city??

Hello all. I was just wondering what the adverage rent costs of a shop is in Galway. I'm not talking river island shop size now or anything. Just a small space down a side street. Like the army store or where that christmas sale shop was. Dont know if you guys seen that or not. Galway does have a good shopping scene but I do think there is lots and lots of opportunities for more alternative clothing, music etc etc. And Galway is a very alternative city if you ask me. So if you guys could give me any info that would be great..

Hi
The rent for places down the side streets up to 1k(less rent less traffic). In around shop st is 3-4k a week plus rates and insurance etc.
You could offer half the rent asked and see how you go. They are sooo over priced eg that newsagent in eyre sq beside the skeff 4k a week!

There is an empty shop on William Street, opposite Edward Sq. It used to be Twist. The rent €130k per year which is around €11k per month.

mYou will get some places abbeygate street/bridge mills/cross street for 1k - 2k per month!
It is more of a renters market now days!
There are lots of extra charges on that though rates etc that ought to be considered.

I suspect that it very much depends on the size of the shop. For example, there are empty shops in Shop St (next door to Powells, was a jeweller) and Abbeygate St (was the Christmas shop) that are both pretty small (the latter 39sm I think the sign outside says).

Suspect that these are a lot less to rent than the larger ones ...
