Was in Temple bar last yr,

No no no no no. You have to pronounce it right. It's Tempull Baaaaaaaaaah. And you "get a pint a bittah" there.

To me, Paddys Day will always be about Shamrock Shakes! Aw.

Well, it used to be about green milkshakes and using the day to abstain from those lental vows of not eating sweets or chocolate that your teacher, priest and parents had drilled into you and then getting sick to your stomach on them... but once you reach 12 years of age then yeah, it's all about the drink and getting stupidly paralytic!

I'm really sophisticated, so I'll be sneering at anyone who does anything remotely Irish.
I'm also going ot leave this country ASAP because everyone else is a brute.

I will then continue to post here from abroad and tell you all how good <insert counrty here> is, all the while ignoring the fact that the entire western hemisphere is the same, but I'm too full of myself to admit I was wrong about Ireland.

Ah, but that's where you are wrong. Come to Germany and see, over here we have Paddy's week, none of this just for 1 day only Irish nonsense!!

The parade and drinking is part of the culture nowadays
Also, it would depend where you live if there is anything else on - check local newspapers maybe

Argh, sorry, being a big Dublin head who thinks boards is limited to one city, I forgot to mention where I was. Which is Dublin.

Saint Patrick (if he ever existed) convinced allot of people to believe in a Christian God who definitely isn't real.
    Are you for real?
If he never existed, how in God's name sorry he doesn't exist either, did he convince people to believe indefinitely?

I wont be drinking. I will wait for a time when the pubs aren't full of idiots not capable of handling their drink.

I guess you'll be leaving the country so.

    Or still waiting.

Okay maybe I worded that badly. Saint Patrick, if indeed he did exist, supposedly converted allot of people to christianity. And yes I am for real. Unlike God.:p

    I forgive you.
It's the God like thing to do.
But to make amends you will have to work in God's allotment.

I hate the fact that pubs will be full of amateur drinkers but I plan on being so drunk that I won't care. I'm taking a half day Monday and I will start drinking around 2 and stay drunk until Tuesday night, when I will slide home on a river of my own blood-flecked vomit. It's what St. Paddy would have wanted. In fact I'm drunk now, in training for The Main Event. \o/

I don't think it is but I have work anyway. I might see if I can get the whole day off anyway, telling them I'm doing a pilgrimage or some such nonsense. Your sig is cool. Happy birthday in advance, Scumlord.

That's only for the tourists tbh. Like the year after 9/11 when it was held late in the year due to lack of Americans wanting to travel

That was because of the foot and mouth disease outbreak.
