I'm not thanking you to be clever, I genuinely agree with your point. I think one of the AH mods pointed it out too, recently it seems people are more interested in making funny posts in threads to get thanks as opposed to adding something constructive.

+1, most of the time the people who think they are being funny just come across as idiots anyway

People just thank posts which they find funny/very good. Those who post them usually just post them because they consider them appropriate for the thread - not because they want to increase their thanks count... well unless they're off-the-chart idiotic. Yes, some are.

But it's kinda silly to get bothered by people getting way more thanks than you.

It's my mission in life to make constructively funny comments everywhere, not just on boards. Out and about, I either get a standing ovation or a trip to the A&E after being punched, stabbed and shot.

Indeed ,getting thanked posts for the sake of it would be pointless and defeating the whole purpose of why we get thanked in first place .Bit like getting 3 birthday cards from the same person .

Much prefer the funny posts to the recession posts.

There can be some very funny posts in AH that make me genuinely laugh out loud. I thank them.
