Will files saved with photoshop cs4 work with photoshop cs3?

    Sorry for the noobish question...

My friend has cs4 at home, and cs3 in college. If she does all her homework and projects etc. on cs4 at home and occasionally on cs3 in college, will there be any compatibility issues?

I cannot see any reason why not.

I assume she will be saving them as a PSD or TIFF?

Their shouldn't be any problems. Depending on the file format. If you're saving as a .psd you can make sure that your file is compatible. Go to Edit->Preferences->File handling and change the box to 'Always'. Below is a screenshot :-)

    Hope that helps

The problem with that is that it may work now but if you then use some of the additional functionality in future it may no longer be fully backward compatible
