The door does beep sometimes (i've seen it), but i also managed to accidentaly steal a book my friend had taken out (he left it on the desk and i thought he owned it so i took it to our lab to give it back to him).

Maybe certain types of books can get through (i'm not the most avid studier so i'd know less than many 1st years about the workings of the library).

I managed to trick my friend into holding the book for a few seconds and ran off. good times :D.

Just remember that when you get caught, you'll be banned from the library and fined.
If you dont pay the fine you wont be able to graduate so your college time was wasted.
Personally io think a fine isnt enough,if its a deliberate attempt to steal books criminal charges should be brought.
If you were drinking in a pub you wouldnt expect to get away with robbing from the till when the barman isnt looking now would you?

hah! I wouldn't be telling people that.

If people knew the punishment was so leniant it could create an epidemic of thievary within the college.

btw, I'm pretty sure my friend brought it back.

I read a book out of the library called 'Political Violence in ireland' by Charles Townshend. Some absolute utter gob****e would write a little 'corrective' line every couple of pages. Then someone else wrote under everything he wrote to tell him he was a dickhead. Soon enough it was like reading two books, because the second guy pretty much commented on everything he said, becoming more and more polemic and poetic as the book progressed! It was very enjoyable and now its up there among me favourites!

As a recorded thief, on students records file, one would never get a job in the college, or ever be trusted again !

Better to fail and repeat your exam than that
