O Neills achievements though good are at clubs with little or no recent silverware.
Rafa has won 2 la liga's, a champions league and a uefa cup.
I dont want Rafa to leave and i dont want O Neill.

Whats strange about all of this is that the usual sources are quiet,Balague was saying last week on sky that this is nonsense and dont think Tony Barret has said anything about it either.

A lot can change in a week though to be honest!

Lets say if he was to go. Who would you all like to take over?

    Jose.

The only manager capable of taking Liverpool to the Premiership.

I wonder will Rafa now be tarred with the same brush that Keegan has been?

remember the days when Liverpool Football Club was a place of stability, a place to be proud of (particularly in terms of how it's managers are treated), and a perfect example of how an elite football club should be run?

if rafa goes, i'm afraid we can kiss these ideals that we have cherished so much goodbye.

we'll have officially begun in earnest our journey down the road towards a 'laughing stock' football club. how the mancs must be laughing....

I think Jose too. I reckon a few people are gonna have a go at us over that

Kenny's been out of the game for too long I reckon. The man is a legend but I don't think he'd be right to take over

It has definately been coming, I have been saying it for months, think it will be poor form if he walks out/kicked out now though.

I've always though Jose was the obvious man if this happens. Heck he came pretty close
    in 2004.

Liverpool have a huge game and the press are making the rumours up to unsettle the team. That's the way i see it anyway's.

Rubbish. Rafa would be perfectly within his rights to walk. The way he has been treated by Liverpool fans alone has TBH adjusted my view of the average Liverpool fan.

To be honest, I don't think Mourinho would leave Inter this summer, not unless he is sacked (which i don't think will happen). I also think he will be the next United manager.

I guess thats better than the players doing it, re Riise/Bellamy. Mind you that worked a treat.

do you really think the media hate us that much that they'd make things up deliberately to unsettle us?

i think we need to look a little harder for where the truth in this lies, as much as i'd like it just to be a rumour...

Would hate to see mourinho at the club. He is an arrogant man and would be more suited to a club like man u IMO.;) And besides the club is in dire straights from a money point of view so we would'nt be able to get him anyway's.....at least there's something good about being broke for the club.

if he was to go i'd love to see jose there too. He's tried tested and proven,

this could be a welcome distraction from the game tonight for some players. Gerrard for example no1 is talking about his fitness yet so he can keep his head down try get it sorted without the added pressure

he'll never become united manager ever

conspiracy theories are fun and all , but what is your evidence of their hatred for us?

rumour spreading is not particular to Liverpool Football Club. we're not the centre of the universe...

ooooooooooook. Thank you Mr. Gill. Or are you Jose's agent?

I think the United job is exactly the type of job Jose would want - massive club, money to spend, control over all football matters from the first team to the academy, no interference from the owners.

you have plenty of proper journalists in the media who defend rafa too. let's not go down the road of the 'everyone is against us' mentality, it's not endearing.

And if you read the sh*te he wrote at the weekend you might just get a clue as to where this all started from. Dunno what happened to him but as you say - he's gone from being a good journo to spouting typical NoTW sensationalist crap.

Jose wont come to Liverpool. Ever.

People seem to forget that when Rafa took the job with us, the three canditates were Strachan, Curbishly and Benitez.

It'll be worse now with the joke we have become we will only be of interest to ****e managers. Jose is the highest paid manager in the world-Rafa gets paid less than David Moyes.

Rafa will walk into either the Real Madrid job (he has been their first choice for a number of years Boggles, despite what you like to pretend) or the AC Milan job (Ancellotti will be at Chelsea next year). The two biggest clubs in Europe where he will get the respect he deserves & he will continue on as a massive success while we quite literally plummet.

If Rafa leaves, it is quite simply a disaster for Liverpool & entirely one of its own making due to its shocking mismanagement at board room level. It will imo, spell a disasterous period for us.

Christ, Im having the same feelings that were reserved for when i thought a relationship was over in the past!

    On the whole comparing managers thing, what it comes down to is;
Success at the Top Level V's Resources (both in terms of players and money). What Rafa achieved in Europe with an average group of players in his first year, imo, counts for a hell of a lot. With regards to the league, he HAS completely turned this club from one which wasn't looking like it could compete in any way shape or form, to one that can. I have absolutely no doubt that if he were to stay for another 5 years, Liverpool would win the league in that time.

    Rafa, don't go...

Delighted to see that nobody could come up with a proper choice to replace Rafa. Mourinho would never EVER come here after seeing the way Rafa has been treated. O'Neill can fúck right off with his horrible long ball hoofing football. Im also glad to see a few people agreeing with me that if Rafa does go then it will set us back years.

And as for the Dalglish rumour  , please let that be a joke.
