    Maybe for people who have no class....IMO making fun of jades terminal illnes is tasteless in the worst kind of way,..certain things are just off the radar

    And that's your opinion. I think it's a load of b*llocks myself but you're entitled to it. I personally never wished cancer upon her but I couldn't really give a crap that she has it. Lots of people have cancer, even more die from hunger, however the world is grossly overpopulated. People dying is a good thing. I'm just glad it's her and not say.. a useful member of society. You can't feel awful for everyone who dies so this won't depress me all too much. However, the fact remains that she's a disgusting human being so you know, if the joke's funny, I'll have a laugh and I can still call myself a humanist afterwards.

    I think you'll find that most of the people who are not too happy about the jokes are newish users. As such they may not understand the style of posting here.
    I don't see the need to get all defensive and bitching these people out.
    They are entitled to their opinions.

    The thing is, they'll either stay here and take in this humour, or they'll check out other forums on this site. I'd rather they stayed. I don't like it when people take pot shots at newbies. We were all newbies once upon a time.

    I see where you're coming from with regards to not making fun of people on the internet. However, as long as the internet provides anonymity, people will say pretty much anything because they feel they can get away with it.

    That's not going to change for a long time either.
    The only real way to stop it is to remove anonymity and I don't see that happening in my lifetime. It has happened in Korea to a certain extent, but that's a different culture and so forth.

    Anyway, check out the celeb and showbiz forum if you want to wish Jade Goody well.
    People taking the piss there will be removed.
    We allow a certain amount of piss taking of celebrities here in AH.

Is this "the earth according to Kold" :rolleyes: seriously, get a grip mate, the last I heard she has cancer, She didnt rape or murder a child/ sell a child as a sex slave/have sex with a stable full of horses and sell the video, or proffes an unexplicable and undying love for a poster on boards called Kold.....Whats the necessity for the pathalogical hatred :confused::confused:
    And seriously, dont give me that "shes a racist bully" CRAP, cause that was blown out of all proportion by the papers, and BB did nothing about it except stir it up cause it was great for the ratings

    robert mugabe is a disgusting human being , she is white trash who became an icon of the z list celebrity culture that has epitomised this decade in many ways , one where having no discernable talent doesnt preclude you from becoming famous , while she has often become a victim of the press , she has done aswell as she ever could have hoped to were she to have never entered big brother
    i find the hour by hour reports of her condition distastefull in the extreme but i realise that jade goody milked publicity for all it was worth and is still doing it in and around her impending death

    We do have a policy of allowing people to take the piss out of public figures.

    I have to be careful what I say because I'm on a yellow card or summat but I don't think you can make out that what went on in Celebrity Big Brother was an overreaction. Hell they didn't even show bits where Jade and friends were basically call Shilpa a "paki" (not my words Terry just what they said)

    Oh come on Carlybabe, even you can see that Jade Goody wouldn't have amassed a fraction of what she has if she wasn't such an unpalettable character, she's obnoxious, she's ignorant, she's ugly and she has zero dignity. This is a given. She's not Cinderella, or the working class hero that overcame adversity using any virtue other than being awful and having no shame in doing it.

    What I can't abide is the phrase "you should be ashamed of yourself", why is it always the copy and paste moralists that go by what's somehow indisputably right despite not judging every issue on it's merits. You assume that you're the good person and I'm the bad in such a self righteous way, self validating much? I don't care about her 2 kids, why would I? They're wealthy white children from the west (very high chances are they'll be classless idiots too). Far from a tragic story that I should give a damn about.

    You're confused, I'm not rejoicing that she's dying, I'm just rejoicing that this particularly garish prime example of what is wrong with media culture is no longer going to wreck my head.

    Oh, don't worry 'dear'. I read his post. How is he being 'gratuitously nasty' just for saying he doesn't like Jade Goody? He is presumably basing his opinion on the public image she projected- you're judging him on a few posts on an internet forum.

    I know which one I find more 'gratuitously nasty'.

    Just because she's sick, it doesn't mean she's infallible. She's a grown-up, she knew exactly what she was doing when she bullied Shipa Shetty. Just 'cause she has cancer it doesn't mean she should be 'let off' for that outburst.

    What does "she's ugly" have to do with anything though? And sorry fair enough, people do care about his opinion, but insults about the girls appearance has nothing to do with this thread. And comments like "thank god it's her that has cancer and not someone else in society" just goes to show what kind of a person he is. Give an opinion but don't be a d*ck about it.

    2002 - Tabloid newspapers took an instant dislike to Jade. Within the first 10 days of the start of the series, The Sun had nicknamed her Miss Piggy[6], installed her as favourite for eviction[7] and branded her a "big mouth"[8]. TV presenter Graham Norton was an early driving force in the campaign against Jade[9] with monologues in his chat show focused on her rather porcine features ("Jade is afraid to eat fruit. She thinks if the others see her with an apple in her mouth, they'll roast her")

    Same newspaper who now is kissing her ass every day.
