I don't think I have had one in many a year and it has been a loooooong time since my mother bate the sh1te out of a banana to make me a sambo. + Added sugar

Now that we are all poor (the worst has yet to come) will people be returning to simple foods? Simpler ways?

Will the fancy chicken tikka wrap ala spar be in a sorry decline? Will the wasteful morning coffee be replaced by a home made cuppa.

Will we be eating jam sambos and loving it?

I'm tempted to buy a jar tomorrow just to remember the days gone by!

Hmm.... I do believe you may have found a silver lining to the recession!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    scones and jam... yum

In regards to the OP's point about simple food due to recession, I certainly will be making a change. 8.50 for an semi-decent bagel and coffee today at lunch. not paying that again.

And yesterday in a different bagel bar/shop i got a caesar chicken bagel and it was all the dark horrible meat from chicken that everyone tries to avoid.

I went to make a jam sandwich in the girlfriends the other day, opened the press and the jar fell out and smashed.

    I was devastated. :(

They are feeling the crunch too. Burger king recession buster = Double cheese Burger and small chips and small drink = 3.50?

    They own me :(

I even have a leaflet from KFC that I intend to use every coupon from.

That is why fast food is on the up. Plus it is a "Cheap day out" with the kids.

I already had my gripe about monster munch the other day. Walkers monster munch are brutal and mighty munch are not the same. If you can find me an old school packet of tayto monster munch then we can deal!

I've just found the answer to the economic crisis! It's time to rename Snickers bar. Marathon became Snickers in 1990 & 3 year's later the economic boom started in this country. Coincidence? I think not...

    Step 1: rename snickers
    Step 2: ???
    Step 3: Profit

It proper smashed. Little pieces of glass everywhere, including in the two slices of bread I'd just defrosted and had nice and warm.

Me too, that's jam at it's best:). I used to love cream crackers and jam too, strawberry or blackcurrant. Oh and my mam used to make buns, dip them in raspberry jam and dessicated coconut - yum!
