making drum beats for an entire song

    ........so therefore i would need alterative beats for the verse/chorus/middle 8.... i need to make this before hand so i wouldnt need to do anything part from pressig play

    should i go for an analogue/digital/pc based system...i am a total novice at this..

    I'm a total noob with drum beats as well and I do it with a Boss BR900. It's perfect for what I do but I've never tried software so I can't really compare it. You could try Cubase / Reason etc., I'm sure someone who uses more software than I do can recommend the best one.

    Spectrasonics Stylus RMX is worth checking out... it's easy to use after watching the videos they supply or on youtube... you can use it to make quite decent sounding drums and then get technical with it if you feel something needs fine adjustment.
