1999 Honda Accord type R any major issues?

Finally decided on gettting one of these have been looking at all honda models and this seems to tick all the boxs cheap insurance reasonable size power etc and not to bad on price either.However have read a few reviews and talk of 5th gear synchros and head gasket failures and only running on 100 octance fuel for the pre 2001 models have put me off has anyone had any experience with these and is the 2.2 UKDM Type R.Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Price is good for a type r, full service history, just done the nct, remote start and he would take less than asking.Head gaskets can go in any car, i'd say bring a good mechanic with you and shift fast

God that's a horrible car. 138,000 miles and it's an auto. Are the two engines the same, or is the type-r tuned more?

Ahh man thats cool. its a cheap cruiser.Different engine alrite only 150bhp or something.
