Ok little techy question as i know some of you have done this, what is required to rip an analog video to computer i.e. what cables do you need to hook up the video player to the computer??

This is a Mark Kavanagh mix from an OldSkool night a few months ago in Radio City.
Good night it was too, there was a few of us here from Boards at this one. Notice there are no Sound Crowd tracks in Kavanaghs set as he and Tim had a lovers tiff:D

If its analogue, you will need something like this

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=221838

There is a Maplin in Jervice Street, in the city center. and Blanch.

If you have a digital Camcorder, you can connect it to a FireWire (also known as IEEE 1394)or USB Port on your PC, using a usb or firewire cable, And using Nero to rip video to your HD.

    your best bet is Maplins,

    OK -Here goes....
You can use your PC/Laptop to do the job as long as it has the hardware, and even if a machine has the hardware you can expect alot of failure rates depending on how the machine is set up.
When ripping to the machine, the processor needs no interuption or you'll get dropped frames and/or audio out of sync. Interuption will be caused by (for example) AV / windows updates, messenger beeps, new email prompts and a mass load of other stuff... even a mouse movement can cause a good rip to go bad. - So if you do rip direct to your machine make sure your off-line and ALL progs running on start-up are switched off. Also the biggest tip I can give you is - USE a brand new harddrive, or at the very least De-Frag your existing one, defragging will allow for a smoother 'write' to the harddisk.
This is the standard spec to rip videotape = Screensize / 720 X 576 - Format MPEG2 / PAL 25 Frames Per Sec (fps) - Audio 224kbps / Stereo. Though remember older machines will have trouble grabbing at that screen-size. So as a work around you can half the screensize from 720X576 to 352X288. Both the sizes are Industry Standard DVD spec. (2 hours = 4.5 gigabytes @ the 720x576 setting )

Here's the Fail-Safe way to rip Video Tape.
1- Use a standard DVD recorder (approx 99 euro) to record your videotape.
    2- Job done. ;)

This way you have a glitch free copy of the videotape on a standard DVD+R Disc (40 cent). Then you simply Import the Data off the disc into your PC/Laptop.... and hey presto!!. - Now the fun begins, there is a bit to get your head around when / if you start editing, but it can be worth it.

Cheers for that Caf, as this is a video of Carl Rogers for college don't think I'll be editing anything lol hadn't thought of a DVD recorder, nice and simple.

Oh and I use a real computer so there wouldn't be any windows ****e of defraging going on, get a Mac :P

One Trumpet going through the tune, fast all the way baby.
The tunes main instrument is the trumpet, or some trumpet sounding instrument.

nah mate, neither of them two.
It would have been more popular in the UK than over here I would have thought. But I still heard it on the rave stations back in the day over here on the rare occcasion.
It is almost a brass instrumental (one instrument) with some dance beat and rythm mixed in, no singing that i can remember. The instrument is very clear, and is in no way keyboard sounding like most of the tunes suggested so far.
