I'm thinking about going to Creamfields in England this summer 29th and 30th of August. Has anyone been? Is it any good?

Any other festivals that you'd recommend? Preferably somewhere sunny, and before the end of August would be great as I might not even be able to go to Creamfields cos I have to repeat exams around that time.

    I'm thinking Espana.

Have u considered Ibiza? Sonar is the no.1 European festival for techno mind, think its in June/July though.....

Was in Ibiza last year, I had the time of my life:) Now that I'm a student I dunno if I'll be able to afford a return trip to the island of debauchery.

Had a look at Sonar. Dates look nice (middle of summer as opposed to end of), no real line up as of yet. Orbital have been announced which is a good thing I suppose. I couldn't really tell from the website - is there camping facilities or do you have to stay in a hotel???

Went to Creamfields europe last year in the Czech. Was very good apart from the suprise thunder storm that closed the main stage

Could also look into Dance Valley in Holland. 11th July I think. Was looking into it myself for this year but its a tad expensive for the weekeend involved. Flight times, hotel cost etc.

Was going to go back to the Love Parade in Germnay this year but it has been cancelled.

Am looking for a good festival to go to myself around July / August.

Highly recommend Nature One in Germany in August. Absolute best session I was ever at. Here's last years website.

Jaysus, a mix of the truly horrible (Tiesto, Van Buuren) and the great (Tresher, Ananda) and the legendary (Vath, Cox, Bolland)

Tell me about it. It's easy enough to stay away from Tiesto and the likes (and their fans) and stick to what you like. I barely left Century Circus the whole weekened. Hard techno FTW.
    Going back this year hopefully.

Dance Valley used to be a 2 day festival until this last couple of years. We went 3 years in a row, and had a great time each year. The first year we went, '03 I think it was, the place was like a mudbath, a bit like the first Homelands here was. Top class setup though, apart from the more than a mile long walk back to the bus after the gig.

As for this year, have you thought of the Exit festival in Serbia? It's the 10th anniversary of it this year, and as it's not a major tourist destination yet, everything is still very cheap. It's a 4 day festival, think it was around €90 for the 4 day ticket. Novi Sad is the 2nd biggest city in Serbia, and I've yet to see fitter women anywhere else I've been on my travels. Unreal. They make Ana Ivanovic look ordinary. :)

sonar and exit are on same weekend but after being to exit i'd highly recomend it beer for 90c and the party starts at the "beachside" campsite then to the most impressive setup up for a festival in the fortress check out the site they have sven vath full set from there last year plus others....go for one of the early morning sets ..axwell...and ull see the quality of women still looking brillant at 5am ....

Bodytonic have a weekender in Croatia airbound at the start of august its on their site

there are loads of festivals in eastern europe and they still offer excellent value for ur money so do it soon before the hike up the prices

its in the centre of barcelona in the modern art gallery in the daytime, then you get a bus outside to HUGE airplane hangar sized venues for the night-time gigs. there's no camping, but you can get cheap accomodation on barcelona30.com. was at Sonar last year, and its probably one of the better festivals around europe. Also, check out Pukkelpop in Belgium. its a wide variety of acts, they have a dance arena with three or four stages, and even with the flights included, its WAY cheaper than electric picnic. its set out in a small village that you can walk around and get food from stalls and cheap booze in the shop around the corner. well worth checking out. however, the crowd is pretty young, which isnt a bad thing, but can get a bit annoying after a day or two.
