    Hi Folks,

Just wondering if anyone knows a good place for me to take up boxing at my old age (32). Is there somewhere i can find out about how and where to get involved? I live in Dublin.

It's mostly for fitness and to be honest something i've always wanted to do.

Any pointers on where to go or what to do and any advice in relation to this would be hugely appreciated.

    Cheers,
    C.

Aged 32 and just for fitness; you need a boxing gym.
Well, there is one I use off the Kilbarrack road.
It's the left turn at Dennis Mahony motors as you head towards the sea front!

Dublins a big place man! where are you and we might be able to help more?

The gym in kilbarrack is ideal for lads who want to box without competing, but there are a small few clubs that take lads on just for fitness, MBC on here might be able to help you, he is involved in monkstown boxing club!

I'm out in Swords at the moment but will be moving somewhere else in Dublin soon prob Drumcondra or somewhere similar (close to city centre north or south) so Kilbarrack would be ideal (what's the name of that gym?) though i'd travel to monkstown or anywhere else in the city if i need to. When i say fitness i mean primarily fitness i'd love to spar a bit as well but really in a health and hobbie sense.

I'd really like to get an idea what the options for someone like myself are for that at my age and with no previous experience.

Well we have some guys in our gym who wont be competing but love the training. They help us out with getting circuits ready, keeping time etc.

Your more than welcome to pop out some time and have a look.
