Ok I know this is a very general question as all kids are different mentally and physically

But at what age do most styles that use grappling techniques start to introduce submissions?

I know in judo it starts at a certain weight limit.

Is it safe to teach a 6 year old a choke??

I wouldn't teach a 6 year old how to choke. They wrestle all the time in the gym and nothing could be scarier to a kid than having someone strangulating you. You can't expect a kid to know when to tap and for me, any benefits of introducing subs at an earlier age than I do are far, far outweighed by the potential dangers.

My guys don't do subs until secondary school. I think they're better off learning positional wrestling first in any case.

Teens learn subs at my gym, anyone 12 and under doesn't, so we run off the same model as Barry.
