You can change the controller layout in the demo, it's the first thing I did, the Alt 2 config is the one you're looking for, it's the same as COD controls.

It's not quite the same as Cod. Every FPS i've played i've changed the controls to resemble Cod, they better add custom controls into the full version. Even with the sensitivity to full it's remarkably sluggish and as someone said earlier on, like trying to control a car on ice.

Yeah I did and its grand now but turning is very awkward:(...Any ideas of what online will be like ? Will it follow the same theme of COD like free for alls, team deathmatches etc and a rank and all that ?

As far as i know the multiplayer is pretty unique, you can mix and match classes, being half sapper, half medic. The games could start off as a team deathmatch and end up being capture the flag.

I think the biggest problem is people approaching the game as if it were CoD4 and being almost unwilling to adapt to a different type of gameplay. I can't really fanthom how they're having so much difficulty with it but then I've never played an FPS on a console when I can play it on PC.

I played it through like i'd play Rainbow 6. A few retries later I started playing it in a way I can only describe as the "killzone" way. My style of combat changed but I still found the controls awkward.

How come you get to play it next. I'm not jealous mind, just curious.

I know some people who may or may not work for a games company.

If I started up my own review site would I be sent Games early to review?

Is there a register you can go onto like DJ's do to get records early?

They don't send out review copies of games verbatum. You need to build an audience, rapport with publishers etc. Building a site on geocities and saying you review games won't cut it.

I don't know Helix's story but mine is simply a case of "who you know". I'm by no means reviewing the game or anything...

    no

you have to be more than just a fan site. youll have to be a registered business, with a business model in place and proof that youre not just someone blagging for free games

Anyone else find the sensitivity for x and y axis really bad? I have them at max yet they are still too slow.

I thought so aswell, found it impossible to shoot anything on target.

It's certainly more sluggish to give the impression of "weight" in the gun, rather then COD/Halo style where reflexes are super-human with huge guns in everyone's hands...

There's no cover mechanic in the MP so that makes a lot of the alternative controls more functionable.

I can see myself playing Standard 1 for SP and maybe Alt 2 for MP.

I really enjoyed it, Otacon pretty much summed up what I like about the controls (It's the first FPS on a console where I've actually liked the controls, not that I've played many on consoles...) and I really liked how variable the AI seemed. I've played the demo about 6 or 7 times now and how it's played out has been different every time. That said I think I'm looking forward to the MP more than the SP.

When I first started playing it I couldn't see the Helghan symbol in the black box when it asks you to adjust your brightness settings. If anyone else had this problem I needed to change the 'RGB' display settings on the PS3 from 'Full' to 'Limited'. (Full is for LCD monitors and not LCD/Plasma TVs.) I was surprised that the game actually looked more impressive when I changed that.

My only gripes thus far would be:
    1. Zooming when in cover: I found when I was in cover that I had to start firing before I'd get the chance to zoom, there was no option to just look up, zoom and then start firing.
I had this problem the first few times I played it but it turns out that whilst you're in cover if you press up on the left stick you pop up a bit from cover and then you can zoom and fire away.

    Had the same problem, thanks.

I really like it, first time i played it i was a bit overwelmed with the action and the new controls it took some time to get used to them but i changed a few things mainly L1 to zoom and took off the zoom hold thing so when i let go of L1 it zooms out same as COD. But also in the way i play i stopped using zoom so much and it loved it then.

I had to reduce the sensitivity for me as i kept going from one side of the Hellgast fell to the other when i was trying to line up shots. Now i have it just right its nice and solid and smooth ill definetly be buying this.

Yeah I am, I mean the 'RGB' setting in display, not a RGB Scart cable. For some silly reason I changed the RGB setting so games were much darker but I didn't really notice til I fired up the Killzone 2 demo.

Ah okay, I have an lcd monitor so I should be on full then I assume.
