foot switch

    anyone know if it's possible to use a pedal, lets say a cheapo distortion pedal, as a basic A/B channel foot switch & if so would it require power?

    You mean gut the pedal?.

    Yeah,you could do that. You could take out all the wiring and replace the actual footswitch with an A/B SPDT switch (90 cents). Then you could drill out the AC adapter and replace it with a 1/4 inch audio jack (2 euro) and wire the 3 inputs to the switch.

    If you meant without much hassle though, no. Not so much :).

    And no, it wouldnt need power.

    To be honest though, you could just buy one for 20 quid.

    anyone any suggestions for something 'interesting' to do with an unwanted pedal? I've been looking at kits on teh interweb but they all seem to be for very basic stuff - overdrive, chorus, phaser or whatever. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron so all I want is a good schematic of something interesting.
