Great Houses in D15

    Hi all,
Does anyone know of any Manors, mansions, Large country houses, or otherwise 'great' houses in the D15 area, particularly any open to the public?

For example; there is a big manor house on the RiverRoad, Ashton House, but unfortunately its not open to the public.
Farmleigh is on our doorstep, but not really D15.

D15 is built in an area where there would have been a lot of fine mansions, I'm wondering if they have all been flattened for houses!

There is some place up in Ongar know colloquially as "the haunto" that is a run down mansion, I haven't been but I'm told you can just walk in and look around. Not sure if that's the type of place you're looking for.

Well, Malahide has the castle, Donabate has Newbridge house, Celbridge has Castletown, Marino has the casino. but what does D15 have?
Are there no buildings of architectural repute around here?
And I do mean older buildings of course - very little I've seen built in the last 30-40 years could be considered good architecture by anyone other than an architect!

There was a house on the original Ongar stud, though it was fairly modest. AFAIK the shell of it is still in place in Ongar village - anyone know if there are plans to restore it?

Unfortunately many on site of development accidentally burned down, sometimes twice in th same night :(

Phibbletown house is just off the hansfield rd. There are now apartments on the original lands but the house still stands, Think there are now 3 apartment within the house.

There's always Farmleigh - some nice walks around the house. The house itself is lovely too.
