Hi, just wondering does anyone else have trouble signing into MSN messenger, adium etc.. in UCD. I have full coverage internet, but it won't sign in. My brother is a lecturer in IADT and he said that their system tries to block such instant messaging services and I was wondering do other UCDians have similar problems. Thanks

You might need to set up the proxy. Otherwise use msn web messenger

    Open Internet Explorer
    Tools>Internet Options>Connections

Then click into the 'LAN Settings' at the bottom.

    Tick the box saying:
"Use a proxy server for your LAN"

    Then enter in the boxes:

    Address: proxy.ucd.ie
    Port:8484

    :)
