As this forum has expanded considerably since the last attempt at finding out who we have on here, I thought it might be an idea to get a breakdown of who our regulars are, i.e role etc as there seems to be quite a few newbies. Therefore a poll seems like the way forward. It would be appreciated if all regular forum…

Ria - in the British Police "Woodentop" is a slang term used by detectives to refer to uniformed police officers. It comes from the fact that old police beat helmets as still worn by British Bobbies (and old RIC Constables) had a cork top, hence the term wooden-top.
