Seeing in the news today that British people are marching for "British jobs for British Workers" (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1131708/Stop-stealing-jobs-Thousands-oil-workers-Britain-walk-row-influx-foreign-labour.html or http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7859968.stm), I thought I'd never see such an occurrence on such a mass scale.

Is there anything I am wondering that others here thought they'd never see but have come to pass that have shocked them?

I'm genuinely surprised they haven't done it before now.

Ever notice that foreign workers don't strike and just get on with their work?

I don't want this thread to be about race. It will get locked in a flash (and probably rightly so).
Its about things that have some to pass that has shocked you.

Like I never thought I'd see the day when our government quickly in days, creates a law so that they don't have to pay back pensioners and the money they had taken from them in the wrong (it was a hospice/home issue).

I never thought I'd see the day when I have to queue over night on our streets to just try and gain a place for my child in a basic school!

Return to the bad old days (economically). Not that I never thought I'd see it, more that I never thought it would happen so quickly, so soon.

Why would he go to all the bother of printing out an A4 (Impressive!) banner and write 1st instead of first?

Things that I thought I'd never see ?

Biggins reading the Daily Mail, he's got more sense than that:D

No really if there was one thing I thought Id never see it was two planes flying into two skyscrapers. You just couldn't have made that sh1t up.

Another is women's boxing. It feels normal now but at the time I thought it would never happen.

Yet another was the smoking ban, before it came in I thought 'Ah shure that'll never happen in a pub going culture like Ireland' yet here we are years later with smokefree workplaces.

Just hang a "80% off all stock" sign outside a shoe shop for the laugh and you'll see that.

I'd imagine there was plenty of non-French workers striking yesterday in France too.

EDIT: Just realised non-French. Har har.
