If you mean the PS3 - the DLC is 360/PC exclusive. Dunno where you get it for the PC.

Well I'm a PC'er so yeah am wondering where one gets it. It looks like it might be through that godawful Games4Windows thingy. Ergh.

Is this true? If so, i'd imagine it is because MS threw a wad of cash in the direction of the developers?

They never admitted to it but I can't see any other reason for it.

Yep it's through the games for windows thing - which is installed with any recent patch for the game.

I suppose it's to stop people pirating the DLC as well as the game.

How big is the DLC. If it's bigger than a few hundred MB's i probably won't be able to download it.

EDIT: 319MB. Looks like i'll be getting it then.

So it seems the whole PC version is a mess; you basically have to use the Games4Windows application & purchase Xbox MS points to purchase the DLC, despite there being nothing else for a PC gamer to spend those points on.

It seems that this DLC also breaks various mod tools & script extenders, unless you manually copy and paste the DLC into the install folder (it "installs" into some other, hidden folder of Microsoft's creation so it'll appear quick enough on torrents). To hell with that; I'm not buying MS Xbox points just to get a couple of hours of extra gameplay, I'll stick with the mods.

Oh and it's not supposed to be anywhere near the 4/5 hours mark quoted as the playtime.

I'm honestly not sure how the games for windows thing works - just noticed that I had to install it to update my copy of Fallout. I've no intention of buying the DLC. I've got games to play on my Xbox so once I finish this run through my attention will be elsewhere.

I'll check later though and see what the process is for downloading the DLC and post back here.

    Eurogamer gave it 5/10.

I don't feel quite as bad being a PS3 owner now. The next two will probably be better though.

One only needs to look at the posts in the official Fallout 3 forum to see what the story is (the ire is mostly with the PC gamers, Xbox gamers have no issues, naturally because that's MS' product):

EG weren't complaining about technical issues. Just thought it was too short and too easy.

I was replying to ShiverinEskimo's comments about Games4Windows problems; all in all it seems a collosal waste of time & money. Nuts. Makes you wish for horse armour.

It's 800 MS points I think, so whatever that translates into real money. But it would be actually 1000 as I don't think you can buy precisely 800 points?

Between installation issues, potentially breaking all my mods, short length of play (and apparently nothing but a corridor shooter) & that fact that I just plain refuse as a customer to be railroaded into using the broken Games4Windows platform, I think i'll pass & wait to see how this pans out.

It about 12 euro for 1000 points. You can't buy 800 points on it's own so you're effectively paying 12 euro for DLC.

Maybe they might group all the DLC being released into an expansion pack. I'd be happy to wait for that if they did.

Cheers for that. Am definitely gonna wait like you; 12 quid seems a bit much, with extra MS points that are next to useless. If that makes me a tightwad, then I'm a tightwad :p

Rockpapershotgun have a funny article on installing this DLC. Phew it sounds like work (I like how the PC version of Live complains about selecting a storage device)!

For Oblivion they released all the DLC additions via retail eventually for around €20, which was great. I expect the same will happen with FO3, or else they will release them with a full expansion.

Let’s be practical, FO3 will certainly see a full blown expansion eventually. That’s Beths' way of operating, just as they did with Morrowind and more notably with Oblivion. Even though they said they would release all additions to Oblivion in the form of DLC, they still went ahead and released a full game expansion.

    :)

I experienced a weird PS3 bug last night. After finished the DOI quest i went back to get my reward and now, when I am presented with speech options, anytime I choose an option the game scrolls through th text at light speed (as if you were pressing x to skip it manually and fast). Pain in the H, hoping its not there when I reload my save.

Operation Anchorage isnt bad..more or less its just 80ish Gamerpoints and new armour and weapons..

Although i dono if its a bug or what but when i went into the room afterwards to get my share of the reward, that woman scientist got attacked by the other Outcast soldiers then they all turned on me.

i think the kid is a random encounter, i ran into him at super duper mart while doing the survival guide q, u will eventually be allowed into the citidal but u need to progress on the main story line a little bit for that, also in the doctors office and moira's shop in megaton u can find a holotape that starts the android q, the rest are found around capital wastelands

Yeah I completed the android one. I have just left Rivet and all the quests I have done that dont relate to the main story are that, riellys rangers and the dec off independence.

Maybe theres a limit on that ant quest timewise, you know where the town is situated geographically?

Firs impressions are theres alot less to do in the other 3 quadrants of the map.

    next to the Diner.

I think that you need to meet him at the Super-Duper Mart first though.
Then he tells you that he will go hide there
