Does anyone here know if there are any swimming pools in the Cork area that open at 6am.
I cannot find one that does. All the ones I have checked open at 7am, which is too late to for to get my session in and be back to get the family up and breakfasted and off to school and work.
Maybe a swimming club does its sessions at a pool at this time.
    ANYONE HELP ME ??

I don't know of any that open at 6. Sorry. Silversprings opens at 6:46 which is the earliest I know of.

If you are planning a tri have you thought about OW swimming when things warm up a bit?

(I'm not a swimmer so apologies if this is a really stupid idea!)

Yes, but will have to wait until the summer to get a swim in at 6am, so not much good now.
Swimming in the open water in the dark and cold is asking for trouble!

MCOS, I know you're joking but last year it was almost true. It was difficult for the channel swimmers to get enough water time without going into hypothermia.

Very true. Anyone who hasn't already read your account of your Fiancee's channel crossing should look into the swimming forum and have a read. If not only illustrating the point you made its a damn inspirational read too :)

lol, I've spent my professional life writing highly complex, research articles that take blood and guts to produce, and now everyone knows me as "the woman who wrote the article about the guy who swam the channel". Had I known how many people were going to read it, I would have put a bit more thought into it.

linky for those with too much time on their hands

It's an evolutionary thing, think Darwinism... If you're daft enough to do OW Tri's in Ireland (or Tri's full stop :P ) then your *ahem* manhood freezes and you remove yourself from teh genepool...

    Simple really :D

Unfortunately that pool is only 18m. Not really worth €65 a month for a small pool.
I will keep looking, and if I find anywhere I'll post here.

I've done my breeding, so the women of Ireland are safe!

Careful about throwing round comments like "you're planning..." btw, that's how rumours start! I would like to do adventure races in teh future, of which the NP is one...
