Increase Volume on .avi's

    hi im using a laptop atm, so im watching avi's on the laptop though its built in speakers.. i was wondering if there is any programs i could get to increase the volume. i have windows set to max and wmp set to max volume.. is there any way i can do this without having to extract the audio?

    If you install "classic media player" there is an extra boost setting in the options/sound section.

    thanks. i normally use the k-lite pack with mpc.. but its the gf's laptop so i just downloaded the basic pack..which dosent contain mpc.. im awear of the vol boost in mpc.. just thought there could be another solution.. no worries ill just download the best media player ;p

    The other option is to go into the equalizer settings in whatever player and bring the volume up in it (not the EQ as it will end up sounding crap).

    Or else in your speaker properties in Sound in Control Panel you should have a Tab for Enhancements where you can find a setting called Loudness Equalization. Tick the box next to that, APPLY and then OK out of all the open windows. Should give you a bit of a boost in level.
