    On Amazon.co.uk
Garmin Nuvi 250 Satellite Navigation System with Full EU Mapping
    £79.99
They don't deliver to Ireland even with the bogus postal code - but handy if you know someone over there - works out around €86 for full European maps! REviews on the site give it 4.5 out of 5 after 97 reviews, so that sounds good to me!

I think it is a limted time offer though as I recall seing that mentioned somewhere before I bought one but for the life of me I can't find where it may have said that now!

This unit is released in april 2007, so mapping could be an issue, no?

Very diligent research nobeastsofierce, just saved me 86 quid, can anybody suggest another decent sat-nav at a reasonable price?

well I got mine today and it is great! Went for a spin around using it and although I went from where I used to live to where I do now - a route around which I have driven many times. Except to my surprise the unit told me to turn left down this crappy little road I had always ignored.. went a totally different way I had never gone before and cut off loads of traffic congestion points - was great! It is a joy to use - except for entering addersses.. but I only got it today and have a little yet to learn from the website i am sure. The M6 thing - well I think that's just looking for faults - the M6 doesn't show up on Google Maps yet and as another poster pointed out I can download the latest map updates free.. I do 12 hour shifts so I am sure no matter how slow it downloads it wonb't really matter to me.
When I take wrong turns it recalculates in seconds and also points out my speed, ETA, miles till the next turn, speed cameras, fuel stations etc. etc. etc.
I am well chuffed with this purchase! :D
