Huge congratulations Damien and welcome aboard. With your merit number you just had to be the unlucky 13th boardy. :D I'm starting to feel sorry for the non-boardies in the March intake. At this rate they're gonna be in the minority.

PS. Gotta ask the Male/Female question. PC Inwaiting's trying to work out how many blokes she has to work her way through during the residential. :D

Am I being stoopid or are you calling him Damien and then asking his sex

Merely refering to his/her merit number. :D

That had me in tears. :D

We're certainly adding a little colour to the 'new sylabus'.

Novel idea, but it'll never catch on.

That's why I'll be heading home at any given opportunity. :D

You clearly have sex on the brain, not getting any at home lol.

I don't want to witness you dry humping one of the lads.

Odd, my merit number is lower (RC), I've passed everything, yet not been offered a place!

With all this pent up banter building up, I'm starting to worry if there'll be enough time to study when we get to the hotel. :)

Yes Garnerville is gonna be very tough, but at the same time, I think it's going to a fun ride. Work hard, play hard kinda thing. Yeeha, bring it on! :D

Just realised that this was my 1000th post. :D Cause to celebrate, or cause to sit down and reassess my life.... do I need to get out more????

Those are certainly not my words.:D

You weren't to know that you had to read his/her posting history to get where I was coming from. :)

I think that's it's hilarious that you went to the trouble of *'ing out namnit's merit number, but left the "sign of the devil" bit in. :D

    Anyhoo......

It is a bit strange that people get in ahead of you with higher numbers. I can remember you mentioning that you'd passed your vetting towards the end of last year... Strange one that.

DownMTber was in a similar position and it was only when he rang to query it that Recruitment realised that OHW hadn't forwarded the correct info to External Appointments.

Did you have to go through the medical appeals process at all?

I am glad to see our only English recruit has a good sense of humour if nothing else.:)

Has everyone sent there form back yet, can you imagine not attending the training after all this...

Haha, well spotted! I've edited it now.

I did go through the medical appeal process and got my pass letter on January 2nd. I called External Appoitments on Monday to see if I was going to be on the March intake and they said no, but that they can see I'd been through every thing apart from the final check they do before appointing a place, so I assume they have been told about my medical pass.

When DownMTber chased them down on this, it appeared that OHW had updated their own systems, but hadn't passed the information on to External Appointments. It could be that the mistake with DownMTber caused them to forward the details of others (including yourself), but unfortunately not in time for the March intake.

All is not lost however. You're bound to be a shoe-in for April and if someone defers, you could still get a call for March.

Just a little joke thats all, no deep meaning. All I know about him so far is he is English and a good sense of humour.

Have you read the pack, bit worried about the section were they expect you to run 3 miles!!! Jesus:eek:

I'm only kiddin about the joke. :D

You can keep me company as we stagger behind everyone else then. :D

The pack was a good read. Enjoyed the "Course Details". £120's really steep for the PE kit though, but I doubt that's negotiable. :(

I know, for that price I would want my name on the back of this fleece in Diamonds.

Can't wait to learn everyones real name, I think you sound like a John.

The top gun high 5! Awesome....I have to dig out the DVD and watch this immediately, unemployment is so good! There will be some good banter with us all I don't think that's in any doubt.

Agree about the PE Kit.....does it at least have a cool PSNI badge on it or is it actually just a plain Fruit of the Loom/Tesco Value job?

I suppose another month is no biggie considering all the waiting we've done so far. It'll give me time to sort out a few things before my life contains a mega work-load! :D
