Since it's coming into spring the theme could be LIFE.

    Content:
Prose: submissions up to 2500 words, no content restrictions*
Poetry: submissions up to 10 stanzas, no style restrictions.

Given its progeny - Boards - no lewd content will be allowed.
Prose submissions should adhere to the following general styles

    Adult: Fiction, non-fiction (feature/commentary), non-fiction (news).
    Childrens: Fiction, non-fiction, educational/civic.
    Gender base: Equal where possible
Exceptions: By committee decision (moral, ethical, alternative).
Volume: 12-16 finished examples of both prose and poetry.

    Delivery:
There should be an editorial of no more than 5 people. 3 from prose background, 2 from poetry, with one person holding a chair/casting position. Production team of 3 - arrangement/sub-editing/graphics.

    Timeline:
Submissions to be received by Feb 27 2009.
PR for demand assessment through March.
Review, selection, and editorial by Mar 27.
    Product placement April 15+
Publication by Apr 30 (see Boards photographers for information).

Submission process: Criteria, feedback, policy, storage.

    Budget (and source):

Production: (by committee consultation as largely cost driven) - Illustrations? Cover Art? Hardback/softcover? Landscape or portrait? Paper weight? Mono/n-colour? Dimensions?

Mojo, I'd prefer higher word limit than 2500. Also, I think it would be better to keep away from "news". I've no interest in reading editorials or news in a creative writing book.

Edit: Oh, and I like the theme of "Life". It is vague enough that everybody should be able to write something on the topic without being too constrained.

Don't be so pessimistic, you could easily write something for this.

Except in extraordinarily rare circumstances, if something can't be said without lewdness, then it doesn't need to be said.

I've read some of your stuff in this forum, Busted Flush, and I've no doubt that you could work around this restriction to say whatever you want to say.

Excellent well thought out post mojomaker!

Who wishes to volunteer for editing duty!?

    Perhaps then do a poll?

THe project will require team members with a background (or flair) in subbing, arrangement, reviewing & proofreading, and there needs to be a selection commitee to accept and review the submissions.

In addition the project would need someone prepared to negotiate any suppliers and keep an eye on the budget and the expenditure.

In the editorial positions there would be a lot of work and shouldn't be taken lightly! The team would probably need to meet up reasonably frequently throughout the timeline - at least fortnightly initially, perhaps more regularly as it comes to a close.

So... I am guessing this is dead? Lots of creative sparks but nobody wants to organise it :)
