Ps3 not picking up Internal memory card

Hi guys. I looked up the internet there on how to get the ps3 to be able to save ps2 games and I assigned the ports and all that but I still cant save the game.I just says no memory card in port 1. Thanks.

go to game on the xmb then memory card utility or somethin like that and ya create it from there

I did that but its not reading it when I try and save!
