Id guess the shop on O Connel St that Darragh is talking about is Clearys. Not a very busy Christmas + stock they cant shift in the furniture department + what must be some of the highest shop rent rates in Europe = Fail.

    Nope, not Clearys....

What? In the Blachardstown centre alone there are 4 that i can think of!

1 Retail park beside mammas and pappas
    2 Beside the leisureplex
    3 The Red Mall
4 In Borders in Westend retail park!

Some more I can think of that i've seen

Blackrock village, Airport, Dundrum Shopping centre, Mespil road, Ballsbridge, Hartcourt street, Dorset St, I'm not in the city that much but i'm sure that there is more!!!
Is that not a bad amount of branches for a company that is only here a wet week that's not franchised!

More than I thought, suppose as I'm in London a bit sort of comapring to there where their seems to be at least one on every street if not two and three.

Is it Budget Travel, as that is the only other well known business on that side of O'Connell street.

Nope. This business has an outlet on O' Connell Street in Dublin (it's not Ann Summers!), and I think you'd almost know by looking at the shop that the chain is in trouble... I'm not saying any more because I can't identify the business in question for the moment anyway...

    Clarks

If not, must be Burger King

Is it the GPO? That must be it- An Post has "shops" all over the country.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,153 ✭✭✭Johnny Utah

Or, it could be Quinn Direct, or the pharmacy (can't remember the name of it)

EDIT: Or maybe it's burger king?

Maybe its that Smiles dental place? Big rent overheads I imagine...has to be in trouble???

If ye start at the Savoy and walk down as far as O' Connell Bridge, you'd have passed this outlet and to be honest, you'd kind of almost be able to guess that it is in trouble if you look at it logically.

You're forgetting the one in UCI Cinemas too! Comparatively very few in central Dublin, there is Dame Street, Dawson Street, and BT2's Grafton Street but nothing in the north inner city.

Is it Spar? I was meeting someone on O'Connell street this morning and as I was walking along I was looking at the shops trying to figure out which it might be.

Is it the shop in this pic behind the tree between Best and Abra?

Its one of those shops that sells irish gifts and there must
be around 20 of them around the country in all the touristy
    spots?

    Seems like a likely target?
