Renting a car in France without credit card - possible?

Looking to rent a car from an airport in France next month. Am able to book the car with the o/h's credit card if needed, but won't be able to produce the card at the desk to collect. I don't have a card myself obviously. Anyone know of any companies who could help? Cheers

unfortunately, no company will let you do this, but you could always try calling the company here, let's say avis, hertz, etc and see if they can help. they might confirm the validity of your OH's card here and send proof to France, who then let you take the car (very long shot IMO)
