Subway is a franchaise as far as I know so I dont think they'd all shut down at once...

    Subway?

We'll find out soon enough anyway, they probably won't be on their own sadly.

    Subway?

Nope. This business has an outlet on O' Connell Street in Dublin (it's not Ann Summers!), and I think you'd almost know by looking at the shop that the chain is in trouble... I'm not saying any more because I can't identify the business in question for the moment anyway...

Uh oh, suddenly the thought of paying all those xtra vision debts is starting to look like a reality :(

They wipe them after so long then send you vouchers so you'll start renting again.

The bloke who founded Chartbusters also founded Xtravision

And bankrupted it. He has form here.

I await the opening of Xtrabusters in the near future.

Nope, actually the business is a franchise operation but the Irish headquarters/distribution end of the business is in major trouble as I understand it so the whole chain of outlets is in the manure business.

    Are they food or not?

This is turning in Twenty Questions, Bankrupcy Edition.

I guess Burger King, although I believe most of its stores are owned by the master franchiser...

Not food, is a franchise, one is on Oconnell St.

its obvious the mystery franchise on o'connell st. is super macs. ummmm so nothing to do with food.

    left or right hand side?

Last clue, it is on the same side of the street as the Savoy. That's all I'm saying! And it's not a Supermacs/Burger King/Food operation... It has outlets all around the country.

    Sony centres i'd guess

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,516 ✭✭✭✭L1011

Ah yes, Sony Centres are a franchise jobbie... could very very well be. Market for big expensive electronics is gone and all.

I was going along the MSN Live birdseye view of the street trying to remember all the shops there!

Are sony centres not owned by peats?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 74,516 ✭✭✭✭L1011

Peats own some of the stores; not the master franchise. According to Darragh whatever company it is has a dying master franchiser.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,444 ✭✭✭✭Snake Plisken

Well it will be a pain as Xtravision will have a monopoly, live in lucan and because Chartbuster used to do two new releases for 2 nights for €8 the Tescos Xtravision had to run the same deal that will deal now disappear :(

Examinership does not mean what you think it means.

It's quite possible they'll survive this.
