Can anyone recommend a decent speaker package to go with this amp?

Preferably a 7.1 speaker package, but if such a thing isn't available i guess i can buy a 5.1 speaker package and two additional speakers (correct?)

Would like to stay under 400 euro is such a thing is possible.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I got the Mordaunt Short ALUMNI SYSTEM Black (5.1 speaker package) from RS with my 606 - excellent package. Had one slight problem with a fuse in the sub!!! which RS sorted out pronto.

I know its a little above your budget at £479.95 but might be worth the extra spend.

Jamo A102's are apparently one of the better sets. I'll tell you once mine arrive!

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions.

With a maximum power handling of 80W, would the Jamo's not be a bit underpowered, and maybe susceptible to getting blown at higher volumes?

Would 100W be enough? Or should i go higher?

With my 606 I have a set of Kef 3005's (not SE version, but they look the same), also known as Kef Eggs ! Purchased nearly 2 years ago from Superfi in the UK for £599 (900euro charged to credit card) when they were over 1,500euro here in most shops. Actually they still seem a bargain !

This discussion would be of interest to a wider audience in the HE forums - it's not really specific to RS. Happy to move back here if requested.
