I've been with BT broadband now for a few years.
Last year upgraded to option 2 package (2mbps).
I didn't find it much faster so I requested to downgrade again.
I was told I had entered a new 12 month contract when I upgraded
so a 30EUR downgrade fee would apply.
I was told about neither the fee or the new contract when upgrading.
So I wait until the 12 month contract has expired and call again.
I'm told the 30EUR downgrade fee still applies.
I ask about a new contract if I downgrade and am told yes a new 12 month contract applies.
So I tell them I'd like to disconnect and go with another provider.
So they are due to call me back about this, no doubt to try and keep my business.

Anyone know is this normal for a broadband provider ?

On another note I was told my exchange would be upgraded in Sept 08,
    but it's still not done.
When I enquire about it I'm told Sept 08 means sometime after that time.
Although I realise Eircom are the ones who do the work.

    TIA,
    HD

They called me back, waived the 30EUR downgrade fee, and applied 2 months credit to my account - I'm a happy BT customer now :)
