I have an unknown track that I would like ID'd - I stuck a rip up on NIOldskool ages ago but didn't get a name at the time... I have upped it to youtube so would appreciate if anyone knows the name. Its a clear blue 12" with 'Nice + Taste' written on the label? Think its from about 1995 or so.

Alot of people just bookmark this thread so in case yas did'nt see this in the dance section.
We call it Techno ! (documentary)
This is by far the most fascinating documentary i have ever watched in relation to the dance scene.
It is based on events from 88-93 in Germany, the most influential country in the techno/trance scene, with input from promoters, djs etc on how the scene started and developed after unification amongst other things. Superb footage and soundtrack.
It's the one place i had always wanted to go during the early 90's to experience the scene and footage in this proves what i missed out on

Hi all, long time reader of the thread, first time to post (and register)! I have a couple of Track Id's that I'm after...hopefully somebody can help.

1: Hypnotic Blue - Blissco - I think this is the artist and track name. If not it's very similar sounding. I haven't had any luck on discogs though (I either have the various artist/name combinations that I've tried wrong or it's not listed)...The track is from the early 90's and is best described as mellow, laid back Techno. I first heard it back in the Temple of Sound days and later when it used to get played by a Dj called Podge (not the Kitchen Dj of the same name) on Club FM circa 1998 / 1999.

2: I don't know the name of this second track but it was a big Techno tune at Genius (Tuesday nights at the Kitchen), again circa 1998 / 1999. It has the sound of a train at the start, a steam engine? With whistles and horn stabs that drop into the track later. It's a full on peak time Techno workout, typical of the Hi-NRG, beefy Techno sound that was popular in Dublin at the time.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey! J- This aint no hell hole, this is my city, this is where my family is, this is where my friends live, this is where I've grown up, it's like any place you live... you make the most of what you have, you dont run away when things get tough,... recession my Fookin' Hole... the only folk moanin' about 'A' recession are the *greedy* fookers who grabbed more than their fair share during the first wave and now they realise their going to have to ACTUALLY do a bit of graftin' to make ends meet. You didnt even need a leaving cert to figure that out 12months ago (let alone a degree in rocket propulsion...ahem) - My moto always was (and always will be) Believe half of what you see & NOTHING of what you read. - Adverts are Invented to entice you to a product, you need to do your homework b4 you take a jump, if you dont...we'll , we all know the score. ;)

Anyway... Nice1 for the videos, but I'm gettin' a bit long in the tooth for the day-glow air filled props and big indoor venues,... I still love my tight dark and sticky sweat box's, and if the only bass bin in the shop has a 5" rip in it, it's even sweeter. ;)

Your right there Caf,if everyone goes round with the attitude 'this hellhole',thats what it will be,thats because nobody has any pride in this country or this town, this recession talk, its aload of sh*te,an invention of the media and the government to stop people borrowing due to the credit crunch in the banks around the world, the only people affected by the ''recession'' are anyone in the building trade and complete greedy misers, who milked hard working people dry during the 'celtic tiger',Ive no sympathy, this 'recession' is working out great for me,got approved for big loan, two years ago during the 'boom',I would have being laughed at if I had applied for one, loadsa mullah for CDjs and new stereo system lol

Wouldnt be to quick to jump ship yet jonny.....almost anywhere you go you will find that product price, cost of living etc. is dictated by the economics of the day in that country.......if you went to eastern europe now you will find that products, cost of living etc. are not priced in € the same as here but are lower & the average wage is in turn reflected by this......the only benefit migrants have to come to ireland is that the €'s they earn here go further back home.......so to up sticks from ireland to go abroad now when our cost of living is high is only worth your while if you can find a job abroad that would pay you more than a job would here if you could find one.......if you do not intend send money home but make a go of it in that country then as said before market forces are all relative to each other & you may not find it any easier to live in another country at the moment but of course you would have a job at least........

    Final word:

You truly are a dedicated Raver if you got the bullet before christmas & blew your crimbo pay cheque on a Rave excursion to england with nowt to come back to......hats off to ya man:D

I would agree with you to an extent caf in that this is where i am from & i have no intention of leaving if i dont have to & will do everything possible to make my living here but a lot of folk will find they have no alternative if it comes to it to seek employment elsewhere if they cant meet there Mortgage payment & support there familys.....i agree with you that this is where we are from & i am proud to be a Dub & from Ireland, but if you cant live you will be a poor homeless hungry Dub from Ireland!

I think you will find agreement from most on that one caf as why else would you have so much interest still in a Rave like the ASYLUM 15 years on unless it was somthing special that stuck with people......well i agree anyway much more of a close knit feeling of 'all being in this one together' in the small dark hot underground Raves......i was never into the commercialised side of the Raves & still amn't......didnt dig the whole fruit on a plate jazz in the Temple of sound so only frequented it twice & once out of that bunked in.......'Proffessional podium dancers' can fu.ck off too as far as i am concerned that type of sh.it just atracts posers as all the dancers are egotistacal posers themselves........was in the temple theatre a couple of times when it opened first but gave it a wide birth later in its life (Wan.ker bouncers)........went to a gig in the basketball arena in 94 called silk,
    silk.jpg
This was a fuc.kin excellent gig with a serious sound system & DJ from Glasgow i cant remember the name of but it was class Rave.....than in 95 there was another one held but promoted by coca cola & with the line up you would have expected it to be a class gig but it was very dissapointing i would have to say & cant put my finger on why but it just didnt go off the same as the first one......Timmy from the Soundcrowd told me the same & that there was lots of hassle back stage with the Garda at this one,
    ba95.jpg
The Garda seemed to be indifferent to anything at the first one but were all on top at the second one.....i can only assume that Coca Cola didnt want there name associated with 'untowards;)'.......
Same buzz in Homelands is what made it successful as a big event.....it really was a relaxed atmosphere from the Security....when i got to the gates to be searched by the security he was checking under my arms & i said joking with him 'No guns no Knives' to which he replies with a smile on his face in a scottish accent 'Nay drugs either' on nods me on....later on in the day we were in the LUSH tent & kept getting up on the platforms in front of the big speakers & kept being told to get down by the bouncers....anywhere else they would have fuc.ked you out....a while later we were up on them again popped a pill into the gob & the same bouncer seen us & just shook his head a let us Rave away up on the speakers......Happy days:D
