Hey guys. I'm doing some research on insurance policies used by Martial arts & Theatre groups, looking for something that would be suitable for Living History folk. These are people that do everything from metal casting in a heritage park, carpentry in a museum, live archery, siege weapons, wrestling, demonstration axe fighting or competition spear fighting.

It's kinda tricky; at the moment, what we are looking for is so varied and unregulated that people can't get quoted. As far as I can tell people either lie and say they are just theatre groups, or are paying crazy money for public liability insurance, as it's a custom policy for just a half-dozen people.

Where do people go when looking for insurance for people doing martial arts, especially competition combat & sparring with weapons ? I'd love to work with a broker etc. to work on a large policy that might cover a few hundred people, with safety regulations to keep the underwriters happy.

    John

Try the Amateur Martial arts Association in England.

Somebody might have a contact number for them.
