Im back at the parents place for christmas and they have Sky+ in one room and an ordinary Sky box in another. They have paid for Setanta and its on the Sky box but its not on the Sky+ box - is this because they have to pay for a second subscription or is there some other way around it?

I dont have Sky myself so i have no idea :)

Yeah I looked into that and you have to pay Setanta for the second box aswell, think it was an extra 20 or 30 quid for the year.
