im just copying and pasting my old answer from september this year:

''hey im a 3rd year sports science student

not lab based in the typical test-tube white coat (in fact i have touched neither!) but we do plenty of practical work such as teaching classes, instructing weights techniques, interviewing people to find out about their fitness and health history, going on work placement in 3rd year for 6 months, working with people with disabilities or special populations such as the elderly, conducting tests like VO2 max and blood lactate tests, learning to use heart rate monitors, take blood pressure, use Electrocardiograph and stethoscope

loads of graduates go into coaching such as with the IRFU, FAI etc, others become P.E. teachers, personal trainers.
Graduates do further training to become a Physio or expert in some aspect of sport and health such as nutrition, injury rehabilitation etc.
Some people work in research such as conducting health studies for the Government or health boards and health foundations.

Finally, unless they leave the field of sports and health altogether, graduates also work in things like health promotion for the HSE, encouraging and enabling people to become healthier. Other, more administrative sports jobs like promoting uptake of rugby (for example) by young people also feature.
